Experience OTR

Why hello again. Our experience during the semester did not end with design alone! We had a ton of experiences outside of studio that influenced the way we approached our project as well as our path to becoming socially conscious citizens and designers.

Signs

#1

Posters and signs were some of the most dynamic things that we came across while clearing out the 10W 14th site.  In order to preserve the voices of the Over-The-Rhine peoples movement and document demonstration signs we photographed the piles and piles of these posters that we moved to the new archive space.  From there it was decided that a video would be put together to run during the AIA ArchiNatti event "Works on Cincinnati" at the Miami University Center for Community Engagement. Video edited by Logan Goins.

Photography was another form of  inspiration for the Residency program as well as a means to document our time in OTR.  The photos featured here are were taken by Kristina Phillips during her time in Cincinnati.

Reflection Video

Our final project for the Writing and Designing for social change class resulted in a collective effort to film a short documentary about our time in Over-the-Rhine. The video was presented at both the end of the year open house at the Miami University Center for Community Engagement and the Architecture and Interior Design end of semester show in Alumni hall. Video edited by Logan Goins.
